Film Screening: Fires and Facism
£5.00
On Tuesday 3rd March (7pm) join XR cumbria, PACT and Penrith and Eden Refugee Network at BlueJam Arts Space (Mostyn Hall, Friargate, Penrith, CA11 7XR) for Fires and Fascism - a documentary film night and Q&A with the film maker Dr Pete Knapp.
FIRES AND FASCISM is a new hour-long documentary that shows that the wildfires in Europe are more than just climate change and mismanagement, demonstrating their link with past fascism, big business, organised crime, and the far right. It showcases how communities are engaging in direct action, protest, rewilding, and suppressing the uncontrollable fires and the far right. The experiences and actions of 25 people across Greece, Italy, Spain, and Portugal feature, ranging between scientists, teachers, artists, gardeners, engineers, winemakers, NGOs, and authors. The film aims to start the conversation on what we do about the rise of fascist attitudes.
